Calum rae
Calum holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science and has also attained his Master’s Degree of Osteopathy from RMIT University in Victoria, graduating in 2014 and then moving up to the Sunshine Coast early 2015.
He developed an interest in the treatment of acute injuries, non-surgical pain relief and functional rehabilitation techniques, through his years competing at an elite National level in Men’s Hockey. He has furthered his knowledge base in this field having also worked as a sports trainer with teams in the VAFA (Victorian Amateur Football Association).
In 2014, Calum spent time in Mumbai, India working at SportsMed, a specialist sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and patient rehabilitation clinic through Salt Health Solutions. During his time there he was able to consult with numerous specialists in several fields of practice about the best use of viable non-surgical options for a variety of patients, using the holistic approach of osteopathic principles. Calum worked with pre-operative patients to maximise the body's ability to cope with surgery. He also managed post-operative care to provide aid to patients undergoing rehabilitation, in improving blood flow, lymphatic drainage and decreasing adaptive stress on the body to optimise patient outcomes and reduce pain symptoms at the fastest rate possible.
Following this in 2017 he went to Goa, India as a supervising clinician for Salt Health Solutions' second endeavour at the V.M. Salgaocar Hospital.
As well as the traditional Osteopathic techniques he employs in his treatment regimes, Calum has also undergone further training in Myofacial Dry Needling, which can be used in addition to standard Osteopathic treatments to further improve his patients ailments and the associated recovery outcomes from them.
